Formosa to restart Texas VCM plant next week post-maintenance.
Formosa Plastics aims to restart its 753,000 mt/year vinyl chloride monomer plant in Texas next week after wrapping up maintenance work, a source familiar with company operations said Wednesday.
Petrotahlil:"The plan is to have it up by early next week," the source said.
A company spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
Market sources said the outage was expected to significantly limit polyvinyl chloride export volume availability for July.
VCM is the direct precursor to PVC, a construction staple used to make pipes, window frames, vinyl siding and flooring, and other products.
