Flint Hills Resources shuts Texas PDH plant.
US petrochemical producer Flint Hills Resources shut down its propane dehydrogenation plant in Houston, multiple market sources, including one familiar with company operations, said Monday.
Petrotahlil:A company representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Market sources said the outage would take about a week to address compressor issues.
The 658,000 mt/year plant is one of the three PDH units in the US, and it accounts for about 30% of the total US PDH capacity.
Spot polymer-grade propylene was last assessed Monday at 37.25 cents/lb FD USG for July delivery and at 37.50 cents/lb FD USG for August. US spot refinery-grade product was assessed at 24 cents/lb delivered.
The shutdown appeared to have little impact on the market Monday.
