Ukraine PC imports up 9% in 2019

Petrotahlil - Imports of polycarbonate (PC) into Ukraine rose in 2019 by 9%, year on year, to 3,900 tonnes, according to MRC’s DataScope report.

By type of material, injection moulding PC grades imports decreased to 55% of the total (2,100 tonnes) in 2019, down form 65% (2,300 tonnes) in 2018.

The share of extrusion grade PC increased significantly from 14% of the total (500 tonnes) in 2018 to 27% (1,100 tonnes) in 2019.

Imports of blow moulding grades decreased to 18% of the total to 682 tonnes.

Covestro and SABIC, with 71% and 13% of market share respectively, were the key PC suppliers to the Ukrainian market.
