Operations at ExxonMobil Louisiana refinery continue after fire.

Petrotahlil - Operations continue at ExxonMobil's refinery and petrochemical complex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after a fire at the refinery portion was extinguished earlier in the day, a company spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The company would not comment about specific units within the complex. ExxonMobil continues to meet its contractual obligations, the company said.

A fire was extinguished at the Baton Rouge refinery, the company said in a Twitter post at 06:45 local time (12:45 GMT) on Wednesday.

The fire started late on Tuesday, and ExxonMobil’s volunteer fire team responded.

ExxonMobil said that there were no injuries and that the fire was contained to the area in which it occurred. A cause has not been identified.

The company is monitoring the facility and surrounding areas in North Baton Rouge. Air readings do not detect anything, but the company will continue monitoring.
