Petrotahlil - Some Chinese base oil producers have continued to operate normally despite the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, amid steady demand or because of pressure to absorb rising feedstock supplies.
Private-sector refiner Hengli Petrochemical in north China's Dalian has maintained normal output after pre-selling its February supplies before the lunar new year holidays.
A base oils unit in east China is also operating normally as its refinery seeks to clear rising feedstock supplies. This requirement has prevented it from cutting its base oil runs.
Many other base oil producers in China have in response to slower demand, partly caused by personnel and logistical difficulties. China has imposed strict measures throughout the country to prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
