Fire incident breaks out at Borealis in Stenungsund, Sweden.

Petrotahlil -On 9th May at 20.45 CEST a local fire occurred at the steam cracker at Borealis‘ production location in Stenungsund, Sweden.

The emergency plan was immediately activated by the local crisis team and no person was injured during this incident.

The fire brigade arrived on site promptly and took steps to contain the fire.

Borealis says due to the quick mobilisation of the fire brigade, the fire was contained today at 5.15 and the situation is now fully under control.

Further stating it is working closely and openly with the authorities to investigate the root cause of the incident and will take every action to prevent a similar accident from happening again.
