Pakistan PVC cautious about outlook
Petrotahlil - Pakistan PVC’s sales for the year ended June 30 fell to 38% on-year to PKR5.5 million ($33,494) amid COVID-19 and the producer cautioned that the future outlook was uncertain as it wasn’t possible to determine when the pandemic will reach its end.
In its recently released annual report, Pakistan PVC said sales and production activities were affected during lockdowns but the factory has reopened after necessary permissions to produce orders for exports and essential services.
The company’s chlor-alkali/PVC complex at Gharo remains closed while production of PVC pipes at its Islamabad factory decreased during the fiscal year, it added.
